This tour is only available as a private tour. Our private 2 day tours are conducted in our 16, 20 and 30 seater mini-coaches and, as such, are best suited to groups of 8+. Prices start from £1195 per day per group.
For alternatives please check out our one day Skye Explorer Hiking tour and our one day Ultimate Isle of Skye tour.
Our two day tour departs at 8am from Inverness bus station. Remember to fully prepare for your adventure by reading the FAQs!
We can drop you off in Uig, Portree, Broadford or Kyleakin at the end of the day. We’ve got information listed in our FAQs as to where exactly we can drop off. Portree is the best place to get as it has the most hotels/B&Bs and restaurants. If you are getting dropped off in Broadford or Kyleakin you’ll still have a great experience, although will have an extra 30 – 45 mins travelling on both days.
You will need a waterproof jacket and ideally waterproof trousers (pants). A good pair of hiking shoes is also recommended. This tour operates in all weather so the better prepared you are, the more fun you will have! The full list is in the FAQs. We may be able to lend kit if you don’t any so please get in touch if this is the case.
You are welcome to bring luggage with you although we are limited to a 15kg bag (33lbs) per person. If you have more luggage you can either arrange to leave a small bag at your hotel or there are left luggage lockers in Inverness (located right next to where we pick-up).
If you are joining the tour from outside of Inverness we realise this may not be possible so please contact us so we can best advise you.
CloseThe Fairy Pools are undoubtedly the ‘must see’ spot on Skye and our 8km/5 mile hike will take you away from the crowds to truly appreciate this unique location. An ascent of 240 metres (790 ft) will take you up to a high level plateau where you will get fantastic views over the Red Cuillin mountains. From there we traverse under the steep cliffs of the Black Cuillin before reaching the very top of the Fairy Pools, and well away from the crowds. You will then have the opportunity to experience the Fairy Pools from top to bottom. Be sure to pack a swimming costume should you wish to go for a dip! We will spend around 3 hours exploring the Fairy Pools.

After our Fairy Pool adventure, we will head down to the bottom of Glen Brittle to see one of Skye’s most impressive beaches. Glen Brittle beach, with it’s dark volcanic sand, is a must see on Skye and on a clear day you can get views of the Inner Hebridean isles of Rum and Canna.
You can also indulge yourself with a great coffee from the Cuillin Coffee Company
ClosePortree is the best place to stay on the island, although it can be difficult to get a room here which is why we offer pick-up and drop-off in other parts of the island too.
For those staying south of Portree (Broadford & Kyleakin) there will be an opportunity to explore the village for around 30 minutes on day two.
CloseOur first hike of the day is at the Old Man of Storr where we will spend around 2 hours. This will enable us to get right to the base of the Old Man of Storr and get some great views out to the Isle of Raasay and mainland Scotland beyond.
CloseNo – the tour does not include accommodation. We realise everyone has different expectations and budgets so we leave it up to you to pick and book what works best.
We would recommend staying in either Portree or Broadford if possible, as you will have access to shops and restaurants in these locations. However, we are able to drop you off and pick you up anywhere between Portree and Kyleakin. We have tried to make it as easy as possible for you as we recognise there is a shortage of accommodation on the island, particularly in Portree.
This means you you can booking your accommodation in any of the following places (please note, these are not recommendations – please do your own research before booking!) -:
You may also wish to stay in Uig, to do this you would need to get a taxi from and to Portree.
For accommodation near Isleornsay (Hotel Eilean Iarmain, Duisdale House, Kinloch Lodge and B&Bs) you will need to get a taxi or bus from Broadford.
Please do not book accommodation in Raasay as you will not be able to get there!
As a minimum you will need a good waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers and sturdy hiking shoes/boots. You will also need a small backpack to bring snacks/water and suncream (just in case!). We may be able to supply some outdoor clothing for a small charge, please ask us for details.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide than Andrew. His stories were engaging and it was wonderful hearing all his tales. He made Scotland even more magical than it already is (if that’s even possible!)”
