Take the train to Inverness, stay overnight then enjoy a tour to Skye, returning to Aberdeen that evening
Unfortunately it is not currently possible to do either of our Skye tours in one day, by taking the train from Aberdeen, Dyce, Inverurie, Insch or Huntly.
However, if you are happy to stay one night in Inverness, then you can take the tour the next day, and return on the last train that evening, directly after the tour finishes.
Please take a train to Inverness the day before the tour.

Note that this train does not run on a Sunday – there is an alternative one at 2104, arriving at 2314 (we wouldn’t recommend this option for our Skye Explorer Tour, as this tour does not return until around 2100).
Train tickets can easily be booked online on www.scotrail.co.uk. We would strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, rather than on the day, as it is usually much cheaper. However, it is only possible to book tickets a maximum of 12 weeks in advance.
Inverness is a compact city, so any city centre accommodation will be within a 10 – 15 minute walk of our pick up point. We have a list of a few recommended places to stay here
If the tour arrives back after 2130, and you miss your train, you will need to get a taxi back to Aberdeen, or stay in Inverness overnight. However, is is only on extremely rare occasions that the tour is that late and we will do our best to help you in this situation.
If you wish to take either of our Skye tours and plan to travel back on the train to Aberdeen, please let us know so that we are aware we need to be back on time.
