WOW Scotland has been announced as the Federation of Small Business’ (FSB), “Micro Business of the Year” for Scotland!
Back in February 2020 we were delighted to be named as a regional finalist in the Micro Business of the Year category at the FSB’s Celebrating Small Business Awards. What followed was an utterly devastating year for our business. Consequently, after a year of endless bad news, it was a real boost for us to be given the good news that we had been announced as the winner!
The award, “celebrates micro businesses punching above their weight.. with fewer than 10 employees. Judges were looking for businesses that had demonstrated strong revenue growth and a product or service of a quality that stands above competitors”.
Commenting on our win, FSB Area Leader Hamish Fraser said, “Providing world class quality and outstanding value for money matters more than ever in these difficult times, and it is quite clear that Gordon and Kay Pearson do just that”.
We are the winner for Scotland. The next step is to go forward to the UK finals, which will take place in London in May (hopefully, if Covid restrictions allow it). Here we will face stiff competition from the finalists in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. The 12 finalists in our category are from a diverse range of sectors; from a cat cafe to a badge maker, and from wind turbine specialists to a supplier of tennis racquets..it’s all to play for!
Thank you to all of our guests who have helped us get this far! After a disastrous year for tourism, this award, and what it represents, have served as timely reminders that we have a fantastic business, supported by wonderful staff and guests. With a lot of hard work, perseverance and innovative thinking we are determined that we will come out of this even stronger!
We look forward to the awards final in May but, most of all, we look forward to the return of domestic and international travel, which will allow us to get back to what we love most; showing our guests the very best of the Scottish Highlands.
