Murdoch’s in the Spotlight!

We’ve got some seriously exciting news to share… our amazing driver-guide Murdoch has been shortlisted for the Rising Star category at the Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards! 🎉
These prestigious awards are all about celebrating the absolute best of tourism and hospitality across our beautiful region. They shine a light on the people and businesses that go above and beyond to deliver unforgettable experiences for visitors to the Highlands and Islands.
The Rising Star category recognises those who are new to tourism, but already making waves – and we couldn’t think of a better fit for Murdoch. He joined the WOW Scotland team in 2024, and has hit the ground running with his energy, passion, and natural talent for guiding.
Just to give you an idea of how much our guests love him: last year alone, Murdoch racked up 96 five-star reviews on Google and TripAdvisor. Yep, 96! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ That’s no small feat and really shows just how special he is.
Where do we start? Murdoch is the kind of person who makes you feel instantly at ease. He’s always smiling, always positive, and takes the time to connect with every single guest. Whether you’re 8 or 80, from Texas or Tokyo, Murdoch has a way of making you feel like the most important person on the tour.
He’s got a deep love for Scottish history, folklore, and storytelling – and he weaves it all together with personal anecdotes that leave guests completely spellbound.

Whether he’s helping guests capture that perfect photo, telling spine-tingling tales in a misty Skye glen, or simply offering a warm Highland welcome, he’s always giving it 110%.
Murdoch’s passion for creating memorable days out is what makes him such a standout. He truly cares, and it shows in everything he does.
We’re counting down the days until the awards ceremony on Friday 3 October 2025 at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness. It’s going to be a night full of Highland hospitality, celebration, and – fingers crossed – a win for WOW Scotland!
