About WOW Scotland

Gordon and Kay - Cake

Gordon and Kay Pearson

Hello and welcome to WOW Scotland, a small and independent tour company located in Inverness in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. WOW Scotland is run by husband and wife team  Gordon & Kay Pearson and, since our inception in 2010, we have been consistently rated as one of the top tour guiding businesses in Scotland on TripAdvisor.

As we are a small company Gordon personally leads many of the tours, but we have also established a fantastic team of other local guides who help out in the summer season, and who share our passion and enthusiasm for Scotland.

We hope we will be able to welcome you out on a tour in the near future. Whatever you want to to do – WOW Scotland can make it happen!

THE WOW Factor!

We are confident that we can offer all of our customers a fantastic product, but we know that you might well be comparing our offering to that of our competitors.  For that reason, we have put together our top 10 reasons why we think you should book your tour with us;

  1. Local guides

Here at WOW Scotland, we only employ guides who are local, passionate and enthusiastic about Scotland, and who strive to give our guests the best possible experience.  Our aim is to ensure that every customer leaves Scotland with a smile on their face, having had their expectations exceeded, and having had the best tour they have ever experienced.

  2. Tour itinerary to suit you

Although we have many suggested itineraries, we very rarely drive the same route twice! We can do this as, luckily for us, there are a wealth of both world-renowned attractions and hidden gems in the Highlands.  If you have a tick list of must-see sights then we can incorporate these into your itinerary in advance.  Alternatively, give us a rough idea of where you would like to go and we will set out on a bit of an adventure, tailoring the tour on the fly depending on what you feel like doing, and what you are interested in.  Most importantly, as we will always agree a rough itinerary in advance, no extra charges will be made for changes to the route.  It’s your holiday, so we always make sure that we use our expertise to make the most out of your time!

  3. Excellent reputation

Since 2010 we have been consistently rated as “excellent” on TripAdvisor, we have been awarded an annual Certificate of Excellence from them three years running (which puts us in the top 10% of tourism businesses worldwide) and are currently the number 2 activity in Inverness.   We would encourage you to read the great reviews if you have any doubts about how much fun our customers have on our tours!

We are also members of well-established tourism bodies such as Visit Scotland and Visit Loch Ness – feel free to check out their respective websites to check our credentials!

  4. Entertaining music

What could be more enjoyable than driving through the Highland countryside whilst listening to some great Scottish music. We play a whole host of music, from modern day foot stamping ceilidh to more mellow traditional songs – choose what genre you would like, or perhaps you may just want to sit back in peace and quiet and watch the fabulous scenery go by.

  5. A taste of Scotland

As one of our guests said on Trip Advisor, Gordon can swiftly whisk you away to the best cake shop within a 100 mile radius, for Gordon knows at least as many cake shops as there are lochs in Scotland!” We are pleased to say that this is indeed the case, and we always strive to ensure that we take our guests to great local restaurants and cafes for great local food, ensuring that you get a true taste of Scotland.

  6. Specialised tours available

Many of our most successful tours have started as ideas from our guests – take Monarch of the Glen for example – a really popular tour which all started because a couple of die-hard fans were desperate to visit Glenbogle!  If you have an idea for a tour then we are happy to consider it…we want to make your holiday dreams come true, so please speak to us (no matter how bizarre your request)!

  7. Fair cancellation policy

Our booking policy varies slightly for different types of tours, but we always send you the terms and conditions up-front, and we try to be as fair as we possibly can.  Generally speaking, if a tour is cancelled we will refund up to 100% of the money paid, if we can re-sell the tour.

  8. Great for families

Unlike most tour operators, we welcome children on most of our tours (although please do let us know in advance so we can ensure we have one of our ‘family specialist’ guides available).  Although most of the tours described on our website involve quite a bit of driving, this does not have to be the case, and we can offer plenty of alternatives if you don’t want to keep your kids cooped up all day!  We will gladly  tailor your tour so that you get to see the best of the Highlands, whilst your children have fun tree climbing, stone skimming or wildlife spotting!

  9. Open and honest

We take you places because we think they are great – not because they incentivise our guides to take guests there. That said, we are partial to accepting the odd cup of tea and chocolate biscuit when it’s offered!

  10. We Love Scotland

We can genuinely say that we love Scotland, and absolutely everything about it!! White sand beaches, windswept summits, Neolithic history, unique biodiversity, outdoor activities, remote country roads, Celtic rock music, friendly folk, a thriving cultural scene, pubs galore….the list is endless, and we are proud to live in work in such an amazing country.  We want to showcase Scotland to the world – come and join us and you will not be disappointed.
