This tour starts by driving along Loch Ness to Invermoriston, so there is always a chance of seeing the elusive Nessie en-route! The tour then heads up through Glen Moriston, passing the Dundreggan Estate where we will see some of the great conservation work being done by ‘Trees for Life’ to rebuild the Caledonian Pine Forest. The tour passes Loch Cluanie with its hydroelectric dam before heading down into Glensheil where we see the awe-inspiring Five Sisters of Kintail. At the the end of the Glen we arrive at the West Coast which we follow round towards Eilean Donan Castle where we stop for a photo.
The tour then heads though Kyle of Lochalsh then ‘over the seas to Skye’ (a great place to see otters).
What we do on Skye depends on what tour you go for. Our basic tour takes you ‘over the seas to Skye’ just to say that you have visited Skye. We get some great views of the island from the bridge and explore Castle Moil in Kyleakin. Our recommend day trip goes down to Elgol where we get amazing views of the Black Cuillin. Or or if it want to ‘do it all’ we do a special 12 hour day trip by special request which gives you a range of fantastic options such as Dunvegan Castle, Glen Brittle, Portree, the Trotternish Penisula, Kilt Rock, the Quirang and more! Skye is also a great place to hike and do wildlife watching as well as drink the fantastic whisky from Talisker!
For the best experience of Skye we recommend spending 2 days (or more) here, although you will still get a lot out of a day tour from Inverness. For those wanting a whirlwind tour of Scotland (including Skye) why not consider out 2 day Scotland tour .
