This tour is the ultimate introduction to the Scottish Highlands! We start off in Inverness where there is a chance to find out about the fascinating history of this historic city before heading up to the Culloden Battlefield, a place where so many Highlanders (including our ancestors) came to a bloody end over 250 years ago.
Our next stop is Clava Cairns, a fascinating 4000 year old burial ground. Our tour then takes us past the beautifully crafted Culloden railway viaduct before winding down a country road to Cawdor Castle of MacBeth fame (although MacBeth never lived here!). After exploring this magnificent 16th Century Castle and gardens (keep an eye out for Lady Cawdor who still lives here!) we venture down country lanes to to the village of Tomatin where get we find out about the process of making whisky then get to taste the real thing!
We then drive through some more sensational Highland scenery, driving over one of the highest roads in the country and passing charming lochs, mountains moors Highland cows and rolling hills en-route before ending up at Dores to take in one of our favourite views of the world famous Loch Ness plus if you are lucky you will get to meet Steve, a real life Nessie hunter!
